The upcoming quote book will have the quotes categorized generally by the date as it falls in the season. Yet, even here the categories are never absolute. The times of the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere, blend at the equator, and are extreme at the poles. Science does not explain everything, but an open minded mixture of science, spirituality, religion, fantasy, mythology, and everything else points to possibilities.

The seasons and elements while partially unique are clearly interactive. None would exist individually but for their counterparts. It is through contrast that we can more distinctly experience. The quotes are designed to invoke thought, not just fit into a category.

A burnt orange maple leaf is falling from the tree branch to the snow dusted ground on the last day of Autumn. Or is it the first day of winter? The outdoor stone fire hearth is lit, hungrily consuming wood (and air) to warm us, but it grows too large, and water douses it to a manageable size (all elements in interaction).

Man has attempted for millennia to exert dominion over everything. Periodically we succeed as the universe’s master, but this is mostly false ego and illusion. Earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, and floods prove we have limited control over the elements. Over the seasons any exertion of human will is completely futile. Yet, we can watch and be the student. Learn from nature as you would any wise teacher:

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels”
