Each day we live is a unique blessing. It offers us an opportunity to gain love, knowledge, and joy from each place, person, and thing we experience. More importantly, each interaction even if fleeting, provides us with the chance to give back. When we touch the world in positive, humorous, and spiritual ways our input moves like ripples in a pond. The energy expands ever outward, and is observed by those near and far.

I personally am always struck by the intricate twisting dance of words on a page. I particularly love quotes. I am constructing an upcoming book which will use quotes to inspire. Some of the quotes are written by myself, and others by much more insightful minds. If I am aware of the original author I try to provide a name or citation. When from me I denote them: “ME”—though no idea is ever entirely one’s own. I claim no unique mastery or wisdom, and if anything my role is as a humble guide. I will be posting some of these quotes now as a prelude or teaser for the book.

For structure I have chosen the four classic elements and the four seasons:
Earth = Winter
Air = Spring
Fire = Summer
Water = Autumn/Fall

Let us start in the heart of Summer with July 4th Independence Day:

“Flags and banners are man’s mark that this property is his alone,
The original power of creation made this land,
A greater power than man controls this stone,
What man leaves are just fragile castles of sand.”
