The moon, the sun, laughter. I see and enjoy these all year long. I cherish these and much more. If Autumn is figuratively the latter stages of my life, I must try to love the experience all the more. And, most times I do. Today I will, and I hope you will as well. Some Quotes:

“The moon shines clear as silver,
the sun shines bright as gold,
and both are very lovely,
and very, very old.
God hung them up as lanterns,
for all beneath the sky:
and nobody can blow them out,
for they are up too high.”
~~Charlotte Druitt Cole

“Laughter is medicine for the spirit.
You can cry while laughing.
Instead, drink a fizzy soda and laugh really hard.
Then the soda spurts out your nose–
That is very funny indeed.”

“I expect to pass through this world but once.
Any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness I can show my fellow creature,
let me do it now.
Let me not defer or neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.’
~~Stephen Grellet

“Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.”
~~Sigmund Freud

“A ray of sunlight shines through a window.
It is there just for you.”

“Standing, as I do, in the view of God and eternity
I realize that patriotism is not enough.
I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.”
~~Edith Cavell

“Watch and hear a crackling fire.
Eventually, it settles into warm glowing embers.
The smoke rises because it is headed toward heaven
as an offering of remembrance of the fire’s purpose.”

“Far out at sea
There are horses to ride,
Little white horses
That race with the tide.
Their tossing manes
Are the white sea foam,
And the lashing winds
Are driving them home–
To shadowy stables
Fast they must flee,
To the great green caverns
Down under the sea.”
