Let us consider words, fragrance, and rosebuds. Somehow words seem incapable of adequately describing any fragrance, nor can they relay the beauty of the rose. Still, when I see a rose covered in dew, my mind brings to me the hint of aroma. This is because they are inexorably linked in my mind. Roses also link in my own mind to the Kentucky Derby, the “Run for the Roses”. Today let us mix some “HORSEY” quotes with other inspirational quotes (perhaps they are all connected anyway).

“When the mind leaves behind the dark forest of delusion,
Thou shalt go beyond the scriptures of times past.”
~~Bhagavad Gita

“What is success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
That is to have succeeded.”
~~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“What happens to all the tears we do not shed?”
~~Jules Renard

“And God took a handful of southerly wind,
blew his hand over it and created the horse.”
~~Bedouin Legend

“Spring still makes Spring in the mind
When sixty years are told.
Love wakes anew this throbbing heart,
And we are never old.
Over the winters glaciers
I see the Summer glow,
And from the wild-piled snowdrift
The warm rosebuds below.”
~~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Of course it is human nature to remember vividly the bad luck responsible for a set back;
we think of our triumphs as fully deserved instead of remembering the good luck that may have made them possible.”
~~Andrew Beyer

Enough.
