Trump, Comey, Mueller, educated and Legal Process. Sometimes smart and well educated people do not get us regular citizens. I set an image of the United States flag over this commentary because I have already in previous comments shown former Director Robert Mueller III and fired Director James Comey. Trump, Comey, and Mueller have impressive educations all of which have minimal relevance in their positions as President, FBI Director, or Special Prosecutor. Well educated does not mean “I’ve got this”. Trump went to Fordham, and then Wharton School of Business (Penn); Comey went to William and Mary, and then University of Chicago Law School; Mueller went to Princeton (Bachelors), NYU (Masters), and University of Virginia Law School.

Today you can watch Donald Trump say what he told Comey. You can also find Comey’s testimony on what he said Trump told (or suggested) to him. Trump states he is willing to testify, and Comey already has. Now all we need is to have Mueller use these statements in his investigation into Russian Election tampering: AND WHAT HAVE YOU GOT? A lot of he said/ he said. Well educated also does not mean cagey, nor does it mean one is immune from prosecution or removal from office. Bill Clinton was subpoenaed, Richard Nixon turned over the White House Tapes, (and to throw in a disgraced FBI Director) William Sessions locked himself in his FBI office before Clinton fired him.

What does all this say? Smart does not mean honest, elected does not mean public servant, and what is legal is not always what happens in the government. Sorting this Comey, Trump, Russia debacle will likely fall to Mueller as Special Prosecutor. They are all interwoven because Mueller will have to be very impartial to conduct an investigation on Trump/ Russia ties since Mueller and Comey are close associates. I was never particularly fond of how Mueller ran the FBI when he was my Director (for that you can read my book), but I am forced to put my faith in him now as Special Prosecutor. I hope he checks his ego at the door and has a flag on his desk to remind him of his true purpose. His purpose is to discover the TRUTH, and after he finds the TRUTH share it fully with the American public. This time period in our history needs to be resolved quickly because it is already being equated with Watergate, and I remember the pain that left in my heart.

Finally, I comment on Trump’s selection for the FBI Director position. Christopher Wray is another attorney, and a undergraduate and Law School graduate of Yale University. I bet he’s pretty smart too, or at least I should say he is well educated. As I believe I have demonstrated well educated will get you a job in government, how you handle that job is a moral fiber and honesty issue. Good luck Christopher Wray you are going to need it. Here is a quote to send you off on an honest course:

“Learn what is true in order to do what is right” is the summing up of the whole duty of man.
