The vernal equinox is scientifically the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere, and is when the day and night are of equal duration. It falls on either March 20th or March 21st. In 2017, March 20th is the first day of Spring.

Spring is the time of rebirth, freshness, and is the element air. Air is the most mysterious of the elements. It surrounds us and keeps us alive by filling our lungs, but we cannot even see it. Air promises the power of movement, flight, and intelligence. Spring seasonally is optimism, rebirth, a fresh start, and the beginning of a new exciting journey. It also embodies youth, vitality, energy, excitement and growth. Finally, while water is elementally joined to Fall/Autumn, it clearly touches Spring through the power of rain. April showers do bring May flowers. Some quotes:

“The world’s affairs and the floating clouds–
Why question them?
You had best take life easily– and have a good dinner.”
~~Wang Wei

“Only rarely are we offered a chance to do a great thing, but we can often do a smaller positive thing.
If we accomplish these multitude of kinder lesser deeds, they can accumulate into a powerful and dynamic force of good.”
~~ME

“All religions, arts, and sciences are branches of the same tree.”
~~Albert Einstein

“Good luck and good work for the happy mountain raindrops, each one of them a high waterfall in itself, descending from the cliffs and hollows of the rocks, out of the sky-thunder into the thunder of falling rivers… Some descending through the spires of the woods, sift spray through the shining needles, whispering peace and good cheer to each and every one of them.”
~~John Muir

May you find your own personal rebirth this Spring. A rebirth in each and every day that is offered for us to savor.
